BSU

There is an endless plethora of Ed-tech resources that have been introduced through the Beaconhouse Schooling Uninterrupted (BSU) platform which align with the curriculum. Discovery uses portals such as Edmodo, Google Classroom, Hangouts, Google Meet, hence fast tracking the adoption of online learning, making Beaconhouse a Hybrid organization where face-to face and online interaction are optimally balanced to enhance efficiency and productivity.

In a world where online engagement is important for businesses, these students are becoming experts at developing a sense of internet presence. Not only do they know how to interact with others on the internet, they know how to use basic and even complex functions to do so.

Teachers at Discovery Early Years

At Discovery Early Years, our highly qualified teachers continue to engage in a process of professional development throughout their time at school, seeing themselves not only as educators but also as learners. Teachers play the role of facilitators and scaffold to provide need based assistance, during the process of learning. We ensure that our teachers strive for excellence and encourage students to continuously explore their gifts and talents as lifelong learners. They promote positive attitudes toward people and the environment, helping students make valuable contributions to society.

Facilities Guide

Discovery Early Years offers modern and age-appropriate facilities to provide students every opportunity to experience as much as possible in a resource-rich environment:

  • Fully-resourced classrooms of international standards
  • Interactive whiteboards and computers in all classrooms
  • Libraries and Learning Resource Centre (LLRC)
  • Steam Room
  • Lil’ Chef Kitchen
  • Purpose-built swimming pool

Child Protection Committee

A special Child Protection Committee is appointed at school to ensure the safety and protection of our students and a comprehensive child protection policy is followed to promote their physical, social and emotional well-being. In order to promote the holistic development of the child, we offer Physical, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE) curriculum of international standards and regularly offer PSHE lessons in our Early Years. As a result of participating in PSHE, students are becoming increasingly aware and reflective. They are learning to question, review, and ultimately choose more positive directions in their lives.
